Okay, this this is for a "Design a character" contest here:  AnK Contest (With nice prizes! :D)Prompt: Design an Esarian.  Fill out a short biography (or long if you choose). Submit your entry to me by sending me a link.

1) An entry consists of a drawing character design and a bio (template for minimum below).  You can draw you character in their Demi form (or Wolf form for Wolf types), H  Nobody go enter, I want to win But by all means go and read all the source info or the comic.

I hope I didn't take too many liberties. I tried to make sure he'd work in the world and not stand out horribly, and be a little subtle with him. Annnd then I went and made some stuff up from whole cloth

Name: Adaren Sajax

Sex: Male Age: 33 Birthday: Oct 24 (Scorpio)

Class: Demon (Blue) Height: 6'3 Build: Thin

Occupation: He fancies himself a "Hunter hunter", but technically he's a bounty hunter, who just takes jobs in Salix whenever possible, and likes to kill Hunters if he has a chance. Not that he has such a great camaraderie with other Demons that he kills them just on principle, but these people would gladly kill him if they saw him, so he feels he's perfectly justified in doing the same in return. It's developed into a skill he's proud of.

Source Abilities:
Connection - innate, moderately controlled; he hasn't made a huge effort to develop the skill to speak to others intentionally, since he doesn't really care about working with people, but he can use it almost at will to 'scan' minds around him and alert him to anyone coming near him. Stress makes it cut out, so he's trained himself to be cool under stress so it will keep working when he needs it.
Growth - high level. He could be an excellent healer, but he uses it basically selfishly, to make himself darn near impossible to kill or to give himself cover, or, say, a tree to run up and hide in.
(In other words, he doesn't have a lot of natural HP and basically no DEF, so he gives himself insane HP Regen )
Energy Gathering - average level, but he uses it very specifically and to great effect - he makes blowpipe guns where a little bit of gathered Source propels his projectile

Personality:
pragmatic, survivor, emotionally controlled, selfish, self-sufficient, antisocial

Strengths:
cool in the face of pressure, excellent runner and climber, Connection makes him excellent at avoiding people and almost impossible to sneak up on, agile and stealthy, good marksman, ingenuitive

Weaknesses:
horrible swimmer, impossible to blend in with people, not physically strong, not interested in cooperation, physically vulnerable

As Demons go, he kind of got a genetic short straw. He didn't get any traits that would be particularly useful in a combat situation - no claws on his hands, a thin and fleshy tail, normal human eyes, unusable tiny wings - and what he did get made a normal life uncomfortable, inconvenient, or occasionally painful. Between his tail, the tiny wings on his back, his horns, and his foot claws - and later, his altered feet - there pretty much wasn't any normal clothing he could wear. Added to that the fact that he was always gangly, big-footed, and skinny, he didn't have a whole lot physically going for him.

The did eventually change; he grew into his body, found his whiplike tail gave him excellent balance, and his feet helped him become and excellent sprinter and above-average climber. He just has to play to his strengths and not engage anyone in a fair fight. In a hit-and-run situation he's in his element. He also grew to be pretty attractive, if you don't mind the Demony bits and go for the delicate-looking type.

Method of Fighting:
Normally, he will be a hunter. He will stealthily trail his target, with his Connection turned on to passively scan around him for threats and give him clues about his prey. He prefers to confront people out in the wilderness, surrounded by plants and without other people as distractions.

If it is a Hunter he's hunting, he will make sure to never let them see him. He doesn't use any Communion skills because he knows he can't depend on them all the time with their Breaker weapon, but he knows he's still vulnerable to it even without that dependence so he doesn't give them a chance to use it.

If possible, he'll get up in a tree to attack. He uses a makeshift gun made with pebbles or seeds, a lonsdaleite barrel he can claim is a blowpipe if it's found, and a spark of gathered energy to set it off. If his shot doesn't kill them he can, if feeling particularly vicious, use his Growth ability to make his seed projectile sprout inside them...

If he does get into an actual fight, his Connection gives him an advantage, if he can keep his cool, by telling him his opponent's moves faster than he would have known. He tends to run away whenever possible and get distance between them; if possible he'll hide in plants or run up trees, sometimes using Growth to make the plants better suit his needs. If he does get wounded, as long as he's still conscious he can heal himself and run away.

Background:
His parents, an Esarian and a Demon, lived in the more rural (tribal) parts of the Winter Rainforest; they weren't natives of the tribes but it was a good place to get away from the social prejudices. They tried to instill a sense of racial pride in him, assuring him "there is nothing wrong with the way you look" and "you should be proud of your heritage" any time he complained about his biological defects or anyone else said anything.

When he was in his late teens he decided that he had had enough of hearing things like that which put idealism above reality. He finally cut out his useless little wings to make his life easier - he figured he shouldn't have to suffer for "racial pride" any more than necessary.  (He was also innately "blessed" with the Connection ability; since listening in on people's thoughts is not likely to make a Demon child any more beloved, his parents made sure to get him trained to control it, which he can't complain about.)

He wanted a better life than keeping a low profile, and he fell in with some bounty hunters in the forest while searching for it. He was able to get some Source training and make money doing that and found he was good at it.

After a couple years of that he got arrested - not for bounting hunting, since they couldn't prove that, but for violating the gun control laws. Spending time in prison, he decided during that term, wasn't worth it, so he wouldn't use a "real" projectile weapon again. Now he makes his own.

He lives in a large city a lot of the time, since he likes the atmosphere and the fashion, but sometimes he has to take off to the hinterlands to rest, because it can be work to keep his Connection shut down around all those minds.
